NOCO Hosting is now partnering with Carbonite to offer online backup services at a 10% discount.
I don't like recommending services or products I haven't tried myself and Carbonite is no exception. I've used two online backup services and found Carbonite to be easier to use and much less of a power drain on the computer. It was also easier to recover accidentally-deleted files and folders from Carbonite.
Why use online backup? A few good reasons...
- The aforementioned accidental deletions
- Theft
- Weather or other disasters
- Hard drive failures
If your hard drive failed today, would you be comfortable knowing that nothing important had been lost? Or would you be scrambling to find one of those disk recovery services?
I use Carbonite in conjunction with a 1tB archive drive and two external hard drives that get swapped out once per week. It's easier to recover lost files from Carbonite - you can do that right from the desktop with a few clicks.
Carbonite is normally $54.95 per year - that's a great deal as it is, for unlimited backup space. But Red Kite clients can now get it for $49.45 per year. Learn more here.
If you find yourself looking for a short domain name (four letters) and by some amazing chance find it available, better buy it quick... A recent study by GoDaddy showed that there are 453,683 registered four-letter domain names, but there were only 3,293 more available.
Do you have an ecommerce website? Here are a few of the more commonly-cited problems with ecommerce sites:
- No contact info easily visible
- Requiring an account before allowing a purchase
- A confusing or long checkout process
- Poor customer service options
- Tiny product photos
- Lack of payment options
If you find these problems on your own site, some are very easy to fix, but others may require significant effort (like replacing photos). If you need help, contact Red Kite here.
